Dear Camp Family,
We wanted to be in touch again to give you an update on the status of Camps Newfound and Owatonna’s summer programming. While the current world situation seems to change frequently, we are continuing to prepare for our summer sessions as originally scheduled. We will follow all requirements and best practices of the Maine Department of Health, CDC, and American Camp Association. Our staffs are almost fully hired, and we are continuing to enroll campers for Newfound, Owatonna, Family Camp, and Creative Arts.
We know that families whose children will fly to Camp will want to start making those plans soon. We are anticipating making decisions about the start dates of each of our sessions a month before the current Opening Days (June 20th for First Session/Full Summer and July 12th for Second Session). Many airlines currently have flexible policies about change fees; we have set up a travel fund that we can use to help some campers if travel plans need to change.
If your family needs financial support, the Campership Fund is dedicated to financially assisting campers in all of our programs; go to www.campershipfund.org to find out more. For complete financial assistance information for our camps, please go to https://www.newfound-owatonna.com/info/financial-assistance. If we are advised that our summer programs need to be modified, be assured that we will work with families to refund payments accordingly.
I know we are all working every day to bring healing to our world, and we again invite you to join our staff and board of trustees in praying for worldwide healing. Camps Newfound and Owatonna have been in operation for over 100 years, and we continue to treasure the love, light, and spiritual depth Camp has brought to our world and continues to bring to mankind. Camp's purpose can only be strengthened as we all play an active role in facing down the challenge we are experiencing now.
We are very grateful for your love and support of Camp, and please feel free to be in touch with any questions as we all prepare for the summer.
