Camp Newfound is located a short distance away from the White Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, and a wide variety of rivers and lakes, all of which enable us to offer an incredible array of trip options. Recent trips have included canoeing trips to the Allagash River, Rangeley Lake, the Androscoggin River, and Moose Pond; hiking trips to Mt. Katahdin, Mt. Washington, the Mahoosuc Notch, Baldface Mountain, and Franconia Notch; and sea kayaking trips to Casco Bay and Acadia National Park. All Newfound campers participate in our wilderness tripping program and both day and overnight trips are offered.
Besides experiencing the beauty of the natural world around them, the campers learn skills in orienteering, outdoor cooking, leadership, and teamwork. For many campers, this is their first time experiencing such adventures, and for many it is the highlight of their summer.
