4 on the Fourth

4 on the Fourth

The 4 on the Fourth Road Race is one of the most enjoyable annual traditions at Newfound and Owatonna, and this year, even with campers spread all over the world, we plan to continue the fun!

The 2020 4 on Fourth will be the 44th running of the race and the first virtual event. Runners in this year's official race can run the 4-mile distance anywhere and anytime between July 1st and July 19th. Every year, this event is a fundraiser for the Bridgton Public Library, so if you are able, we hope that you will sign up at https://fouronthefourth.com/register-for-the-race/ and continue to support the local economy near Camp. Newfound and Owatonna has always been the camp with the most runners participating in the race, and as many of you know, our camps consistently take home the Camp Cup (Owatonna has won 17 in a row, and Newfound won the girls division in 2016 and 2018).

Whether you officially register or not, we would love to continue this as a camp event! On July 4th, or on some date around the 4th, pull on your sneakers and a camp t-shirt and head out for a run, jog, or walk. To make it even more festive and camp-like, find some red, white, and blue paint and re-create the excellent decorations Newfound and Owatonna campers have painted in past races. Have somebody take a photo of you as you are running, and we'll share the fun with our camp community! Send a photo to jenny@newfound-owatonna.com.

Help us celebrate Independence Day, the Bridgton Library, and Camps Newfound and Owatonna!

Check out our short video from last year's race if you need some inspiration to get going!
