4 on the Fourth

Camps Newfound and Owatonna once again participated in a local road race on the 4th of July. Yesterday, the race directors presented to Newfound the 2018 Girls Camp Cup and to Owatonna the 2018 Boys Camp Cup. This is Owatonna's 16th Boys Camp Cup victory in a row! Newfound has won two of the four Girls Camp Cups. The winner of the Camp Cups is determined by the combined time of the top five camper runners.

This year's race had a total of 2118 runners and they came from 40 states and 24 countries. Almost every Newfound and Owatonna camper and counselor participated! Former Owatonna camper Silas Eastman came in 4th place overall; Owatonna tripper Nate Richards came in 5th place; and Owatonna counselor Henry Osborn came in 13th place. Laura, a Newfound camper, was the fastest overall girl camper (from all camps)! Between our two camps we had 6 other top ten age group finishers (Jimmy, Erik, Jake, Lily, Amy, and Hannah).

We are already looking forward to next year's race!
