Love to make music? Got a song you want to work up? One you wrote yourself or a simple cover? This class is all about jamming together and having fun in the process. You’ll have opportunities to sing lead and/or back up harmonies, learn new instrumental, rhythmic, and vocal riffs, and explore ideas for song arrangements. Most of all, you'll discover how much fun it is singing and performing with others in an ensemble. Instruments are welcome. Local musicians will sit in with us throughout the week. Come jam with fun-loving musical friends and discover the joy of making music in a group!

Jeff Robertson
Jeff is an award-winning songwriter and a longtime performer in multiple musical groups. He sings and plays guitar, piano, bass, and flute. As a college student, he produced a unique concert of original music involving both students and faculty. Jeff also attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he was immersed in jazz appreciation and arranging. He designed and taught a Principia College Lifelong Learning course on deconstructing the popular song, elements of which he’ll bring to Toast and Jam.
With Deb Hensley
Deb performed and presented workshops for over ten years with Improvox, a vocal improvisation ensemble she co-founded, and sang with Brio, a trio that morphed out of Improvox. Before that, she sang and played guitar in various small groups, one of which was where she and Jeff first performed together. Lately she’s been captivated with writing and recording rounds and has led singing vigils and community singing.
