Color for Artists

AUGUST 21-28

Class Full
Color for Artists

We observe and make color choices everyday. For artists in any medium, unique and articulate color selections can be a challenge. Students often ask, "What color should I put in this area?" Answers to this question plumb the depth of personal intuition, individual reasons for creating the work, and color strategies that can deliver the desired results. Together we will experiment with options that address local and perceptual color and mood. Our subject matter and inspiration will come from your personal art and the abundant natural surroundings at camp. This course is focused toward the artist at any level who already works in color. Bring your own medium: watercolor, pastels, colored pencils, or other to try out ideas. Special colored paper will be provided for experimentation.
